I am a dedicated and enthusiastic instructor and performer. Music has always been a positive influence on my life; I hope to foster the same lifelong love of music in my students! I hold a Masters degree from Manhattan School of Music in clarinet performance and a Bachelors degree from the University of Maryland, also in clarinet performance. As a performer, I have had the opportunity to play at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall, the Kimmel Center and I spent one summer performing as a member of the National Reperotry Orchestra in beautiful Breckenridge, Colorado. For beginner students with little to no playing experience, I usually start with the Essential Elements series, along with supplemental music theory instruction. I usually switch the student over to the Rubank books once they've grasped the fundamentals. I then introduce standard solo repertoire as well as etudes, orchestral excerpts, etc. I encourage ensemble playing and deep music listening to all my students as well. For piano students, I am comfortable teaching Suzuki, Faber & Faber, and many other methods.
