For beginning students I start with the Suzuki cello books, and teach books 1 to 5. I reinforce the Suzuki with pop/ non-classical songs, depending on the student's interest. After Suzuki 5, which is well into the intermediate level, I introduce individual works (small concerto's, sonatas, etc.) and cater them towards the student's ability and interest. For younger or beginner students, I reinforce the Suzuki books with sight-reading, and as they progress, I add in etude studies. Read More

My teaching philosophy is to inspire in my students a love and passion for discovering the musical possibilities of the cello, and providing engaging and enjoyable instruction with continuous support and encouragement is one of the primary ways I hope to achieve this. I currently work as an ensemble coach with the New England Conservatory Preparatory School and teach privately around the Boston area. When working with any student, I aim to bring out the interests that make them want to play the cello. Read More
