I like to create goals with the student, not just for them. In other words, I make sure the student's opinion is always taken in consideration to ensure that every goal set is within reason and that the student genuinely thinks it is realistic for them. I encourage students to keep a practice journal where they write down the amount of time they practiced, what scale and technique exercise they practiced, and the pieces they practiced. Read More

I have had 2 private students for the past year both for voice: -Zoe 15 -Lucas 13 I officially started teaching while I was with The After School All-Stars teaching their school of rock band. I was with them for 3 years and in that time I was able to not only have the students perform as a band but I also taught the students how to be "techies". Not all of them wanted to play instruments but they still wanted to be a part of the group so I said Why Not?" I later on returned to my old high school and have been teaching there as a musical theater teacher. Read More

Our mission is to make music accessible, and we achieve this by offering low-cost small group lessons, theory classes, and ensemble experiences. As a teacher at the Saturday Conservatory of Music, I take pride in delivering rigorous instruction that goes beyond technical skills. It's about nurturing creativity, instilling self-discipline, and fostering a lifelong love for music. Seeing the growth and enthusiasm of these young musicians is truly rewarding. Through The Staff is another remarkable organization that I'm involved with. Read More

As a cello instructor, my students have been accepted into several top music programs including the University of North Texas, the University of Houston, Texas Tech University, Sam Houston State University, and the University of Texas at Arlington. Several have gone on to become teachers themselves. I have taught students of all age levels and experience, from beginners both young and old, to conservatory level; from basic setup and posture, to advanced left hand and bowing technique. Read More

I taught the students from beginners to very advanced college students in traditional classic way. I taught big string classes and private lessons in different levels. I was assistant professor in University of Mississippi for ten years and taught applied cello and string Bass lessons. Many of my students went to further professional studies and started their music career. And also, I have many students who went to other majors in college but still keeping very active in the area of music, playing community orchestra, start their own private chamber music group, become very positive part of their community. Seeing my students enjoy and grow in their passion for music is the most rewarding part in my teaching. I can be a tiger teacher but at the same time be very patient, flexible, supporting, and open to listen to my students. I value communication with my students during every lesson, making sure if they are following along. I consistently ask questions to my students about how they feel, their opinions, or what they’re struggling with. Read More

For my beginning piano students, I like to start with Alfreds performance books and music theory to help assist the note and music reading. My cello students that are still in the beginning stages I like to have using the Suzuki books to help work towards more advanced music and skills. My voice students are all very different so I shape our lesson methods based on what style of singing theyre interested in, but we always begin working on proper breathing and learning solfege.
