For beginning string student's, I use Essential Elements for Strings and Schroeder method books. Once the student has grasped the basic fundamentals and note reading, I begin to introduce solo repertoire from the Suzuki String method. Along with technical studies and solo repertoire, the student will learn scales ranging from one to four octaves. For beginning piano student's, I use the Bastein Piano series. This method is complete with a method book, solo repertoire, theory studies and scales. Read More

I taught the students from beginners to very advanced college students in traditional classic way. I taught big string classes and private lessons in different levels. I was assistant professor in University of Mississippi for ten years and taught applied cello and string Bass lessons. Many of my students went to further professional studies and started their music career. And also, I have many students who went to other majors in college but still keeping very active in the area of music, playing community orchestra, start their own private chamber music group, become very positive part of their community. I am very flexible with my teaching methods and put together the best style matching the student's learning strengths. Furthermore, I update and change my methods if I feel the current method is becoming ineffective. I keep my lessons interactive with the student because the time is for the student to retrieve as much information as he/she can regarding their instrument and they can build a stronger week of preparation heading into the next lesson. Currently my most used methods are teaching via classical, pop & jazz, and Suzuki methods. Read More

I teach combination of the Suzuki method and the Hungarian style (stressing the natural, comfortable, painless, tension free method). For young students, the Suzuki method is great, since the repertoire is all fun! Also the CD that comes with every level is vital! Children enjoy and benefit from that. I am an audiophile, so I can set up students with a quality hifi system on the cheap - this is so vital in Suzuki method, as he stated in his book, Nurtured With Love. Read More

My teaching experience begain in 2008 when I inherited my former instructor's Los Angeles studio. I've tought consistently sincen then and have found that no matter what their age or music experience is, everyone can learn to play and enjoy an instrument. The fundamentals of playing cello are the same for everyone, no matter when or where or how you start. Establishing realistic expectations and developing consistent practice habits to support them are essential to success. Read More

Seeing my students enjoy and grow in their passion for music is the most rewarding part in my teaching. I can be a tiger teacher but at the same time be very patient, flexible, supporting, and open to listen to my students. I value communication with my students during every lesson, making sure if they are following along. I consistently ask questions to my students about how they feel, their opinions, or what they’re struggling with. Read More
Instruments: Piano Cello Keyboard
I started teaching piano to both children and adults in high school. One of them was 5 years old, the other was 6, and another was 13 years old. I've also taught a 19-year-old for a short period of time. For the two kids who were 5 and 6, they were total beginners at piano and did not know anything about piano so my main focus was to introduce them to this instrument and teach them the basics of music theories, scores, and postures.
