Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

Beginning students who are children I use Mel Bay's Children's Guitar Method. Depending on their learning curve, I may use other methods and books to their learning language. Adults, I listen to their desires in learning their instrument and gear my lessons accordingly. For any age, music teachers have to be firm but patient. Sometimes, it's hard to stay on track when doing something rote or outside your comfort zone, and I am very understanding of that (as someone who begged my mom to let me quit piano lessons as an elementary schooler). I take one lesson at a time while careful to scaffold the information. I want students to improve, but I also want them to know what it is that they must do in order to become a competent musician. I can be tough, but at the same time, I don't mind changing directions and moving from say, ear training to sight reading or some other approach.
