During your first lesson, we will work on learning chords, and how to read tablature. For younger students, we may start with abbreviated versions of chords in order to start playing popular songs and make the learning process easier. Also, I'll introduce 5-line staff paper sometime during the first few lessons, and we may start work on a simple tune/melody. I have recently relocated back to NYC and love it here. I am originally from Atlanta, Georgia and a graduate of UGA. I have been fortunate enough to record on tons of records and tour the world many times over. My work has kept me super versatile as I have done everything from big band and small group jazz to rock and funk. I began my musical studies when I was 6 years old. At the age of 10 I was already able to play with tremendous fluency different instruments, but I focused mainly on piano, guitar, voice and electric bass. When I was 14 years old, I got interested in Jazz, Tango and classical music so I started playing the upright bass because it is an essential instrument in these styles of music. I fell in love with music at a young age, hearing relatives sing and play, and began taking guitar and bass lessons as a teen.  I then majored in bass and music at Onondaga Community College, which is known for it's music program.  I have had the opportunity to tour the country with a band out of Austin, Texas, as a signed professional musician with a national act.  I recorded a love show for XM Radio, and have had a song played on NPR.
