As a dedicated cello instructor, I implement the renowned Suzuki method as the foundation of my teaching approach. With years of experience and a passion for nurturing young musicians, I firmly believe in tailoring my lessons to meet the unique needs and aspirations of each of my cello students. Everybody develops at their own pace. This makes the journaling process even more important. I ask to keep track ofwhat you worked on, how it felt, how much time you spent on each subject, questions or interests it brought up, and goals you wish to strive for. This is a routine that I've found very helpfull for musicians of all ages and expeience levels. There are few things more satisfying than acheiving a goal you've reached and being recognized for it, this is a goal that I strive to complete with each and every student. Read More

I believe your voice is like any muscle, and with regular practice, determination and exercise, you can reach your goals! Read More

I have had students video my lessons and post them online. I work with students on skills like improvisation, and co-writing. Read More

For kids I find that having a large quantity of music to learn at each level gives more variety and sense of achievement, so I usually recommend beginning students have multiple books to aid in learning. For example a young piano student will study from lesson, theory, performance, and technique books each week. This yields a well-rounded student who is proud of their achievements and eager to move forward. For adults I recommend a lesson/theory combination book at least to help with reading music. Read More
