My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 8 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the last 5 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. My teaching methods include traditional and Suzuki technique with an emphasis on music theory.  Young students benefit from Suzuki technique using activities and games to foster learning.  For young beginners as well as adult, I start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements and String Builder and scale studies. Music has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember! I started playing the electric organ when I was about 7 years old. I couldn't read music yet, but I would listen to my dad play and just copy him.
