I have worked with many different method books, but the Essential Elements books are valuable because of the audio CD that is included with the books. This should give the child a sense of accomplishment. Along the way I also have little treats I will give to a student, candy, cookie, pencil, eraser. Nothing expensive. I emphasize that music is math in all concerns. It is proven that the students math grades will improve when they do music. It is science based.
