I feel it's important to tailor my teaching style to each student. Overall I like to keep a low -pressure, fun approach but am a stickler for the importance of learning traditional scales and exercises as well as proper notation. I don't believe you can fully learn either sax or piano without learning to read music, so I also teach notation skills.
