I am a music instructor with a wide variety of experiences, knowledge, and pedagogical approaches. Since I began teaching private, I have had students of all ages and ability levels achieve success, including one student who was accepted into the Colorado All-State Band and All-State Orchestra. My teaching experience dates back to when I was in high school giving lessons to middle schoolers and beginning level high schoolers as a teacher's assistant at Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School and Douglas High School. Continuing out of high school, I'm now a brass tech for Damonte Ranch High School and a private lessons instructor with Musika. I'm a very passionate and motivated educator who loves sharing that passion and motivation with my students. I'm currently attending Metropolitan State University of Denver getting my bachelor's in trumpet performance. I've been playing the trumpet since I was 11, but really found that it was my calling in my junior year of high school where I decided to pursue a degree in something that I love! Since then, I have won the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award in 2018, played with the Parker Symphony as the assistant principal trumpet, have played with the Colorado Brass, the Rocky Mountain Jazz Orchestra, and the Mariachi Los Caracaminos de MSU, as well as many other chamber ensembles both professionally and at my university. I challenge every student to exceed their own expectations. I believe everyone has more to learn and achieve, including me. Many students have taught me something, lets grow together. I use many books to start students and usually spend most of the lesson in the Arban's Complete Conservatory Method for Trumpet (Cornet). I like students to study classic trumpet solo's literature. Trumpet students will learn to slurring, double and triple tonging technics, as well as transposing and how to write music. Read More
