My curriculum is largely up to my student, I write custom excercises as well as reenforce musical notation through transcription of the student's favorite music. Being classically trained I place a heavy importance on technique and the physical attributes of playing string instruments. I have taught students as a private instructor and private tutor for the past 7 years, with students as young as 7 and as old as 40, I have developed the ability to adapt and cater my lessons to a variety of different scenarios. I primarily find myself teaching guitar, but am equally capable in teaching bass guitar and music theory. With nearly 25 years of music-related experience and more than 15 years as an instructor, I have taught a multitude of students, young and old, and within a broad age range and abilities. Moreover, I have worked with the United Way of Santa Barbara in the summer of 2014 as a guitar instructor and was instrumental in developing a guitar program with the City of Pismo Beach in 2013. While working in Pismo Beach, my dedication to the students, most of whom were young children, compelled me to reached out to music instrument vendors and successfully solicited for donations of instruments and equipment to the city’s music program. I started playing guitar when I was 13. My parents couldn't afford lessons so I had to teach myself how to play. It wasn't a train wreck, but it wasn't pretty either! After a few years of trial and error I finally had my first guitar lesson and realized I was doing everything wrong! In 2008, I graduated from New School University in New York City with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in jazz performance with the double bass as my primary instrument.
