Though my specialty is in music composition, my undergraduate degree is in guitar and choral education, and I have been teaching guitar for over 10 years, to students from 5 - 80. I am currently an adjunct professor at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY, and teach guitar and bass lessons / classes, songwriting, music composition, and music theory. I began teaching drums and percussion around my senior year of high school (1999). For guitar/bass guitar, I began teaching sometime in 2009. I feel very fortunate regarding my teaching experiences. In the beginning and still today, I tend to spark a musical interest in people through performance -- and just as often -- conversation. My teaching experience began at the age of 16 when a few parents at the church I was involved in music ministry at became interested in getting guitar lessons for their children, so I began teaching guitar basics after Wednesday night service.
