I'm a passionate and motivated musician who loves giving my students the tools necessary for success in a wide variety of musical genres. In 2015, I graduated from University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance. Performing in a number of church groups, choirs, operas, and musicals have been enjoyable experiences in my collegiate and professional career as a musician over the last 12 years. I have been teaching for four years in many capacities, from teaching full bands, to working one on one with students of all ages. I have taught many older students who have a strong foundation in music, as well as young students with no music expierience at all. The curriculum that I use varies according to the various orchestral instruments, singing or piano, and of course according to the levels of ability. I work with many different technique books and workbooks to teach music notation and reading.Within 3-6 months, my students will be reading notes, understanding rhythms both complex and simple, and playing and singing anything from classical to Pop to Broadway and even writing and recording (I am a recording producer as well)their own songs, if they choose!   Positive reinforcement and constructive feedback are of utmost importance to me when instructing my students. I will always demonstrate rather than simply describe what is needed. I encourage students to practice about 30 minutes each day between lessons (and yes, singing in the car or shower counts!). Exploring and expanding vocal range is a first step, along with proper breathing technique and correct healthy vocal placement.Using theory and eartraining, I help students explore and become comfortable with improvisation.
