I usually recommend piano as a starting instrument for children at least 5 years of age. Most often, I use the Alfred Piano Library Series of coordinating lesson books. I am most comfortable teaching beginner to intermediate level piano students. My main teaching instrument is Flute, and I can successfully teach ages 9 and up depending on the size of the student (sometimes younger if a curved head joint is used). I enjoy using various method books to develop fundamental skills and then pair these with appropriate level solo works. Read More

If possible I will use any or all of these techniques. I have had a few students who stayed with me for many years (not all of these students possessed "natural" ability). Playing not talking provides students with tools to take to their own "studio". Read More
