In these courses, we were taught the fundamentals of the voice on a physiological level, and then had various discussions on how we, as teachers, can translate that to a potential student in a lesson. I begin by asking about a students goals and getting to know them. I discuss breathing, technique and their musical backgroud so I can figure out how to best help that student. I first started music at a young age through my local church; my first instrument being flute. I studied flute for many years before taking formal voice lessons. This led me to become a voice performance major at the Manhattan School of Music, where I sang lead roles in and outside of the school. In addition, I continued my flute studies as well as strengthen my piano skills. Hello! I just graduated from Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music in 2019 with a Bachelors degree in Vocal Performance. I have been in over 60 productions in my life, including concerts, operas, operettas, musical theatre performances, and talent shows. I absolutely love singing and am very excited for the opportunity to start teaching! I have had extensive training in my craft, and have been taking voice lessons for 12 years.
