My teaching experience goes back to the 1990s when I had my first guitar and piano students. I meet people "where they are." By that I mean that I see where the student is coming from, and bridge a link to a higher level of creative evolution that encompasses both technique and original thinking. I have had students video my lessons and post them online. I work with students on skills like improvisation, and co-writing. Read More

I began teaching music lessons to my friends and peers who were beginning to take up new instruments(piano, bass, & guitar) when I was in middle school. I am a very patient teacher, but I am also strict when it comes to practice. I am adamant about practice as it is everything to the student's success. The second part is the practice/performance of music, instruments, and vocally: The doing of music This includes: Physically clapping rhythms, singing, playing, performing, improvising 3. Read More

My students describe me as patient, fun, understanding, and challenging. :) For the shy ones, I like to get to know them, and see what I can do to get through to them and get them to open up to music. For the adventurous one, I dare them to go on adventures with me. For the self-critical ones, I become their voice of encouragement and love. For the over-confident ones, I open their eyes to more challenges that will demand more of themselves. Read More
