In addition to my current work as an accompanist, I've been teaching piano for 20+ years, and I love partnering with students to help them grow musically and realize their dreams. Some of my students have gone on to be professionals or teachers, and some are playing the music they love with their friends. Others are playing in their churches or in bands, and some play simply for personal enjoyment. My lesson focus depends on the student goals, but I will always include elements of theory, as it facilitates a deeper understanding of the music, allowing students the capability of creating their own music and playing in many different styles. Music has been a huge focus of my life since a young age, and growing up to be a performer and instructor in the art seems very logical to me, but frankly I wouldn't care to do anything else! When I was four years old, I sat down at the piano for the first time. The first time I pressed a key, I knew that I had a passion for music that would span my lifetime. A few years later, I took up flute and violin and joined local ensembles. I have traveled around the west coast performing classical, jazz, pop, and folk music. I graduated from Western Oregon University with my Bachelors in music composition in 2018. Read More

When I became more involved in instrumental studies and performance, I quickly wanted to help others achieve musical excellence through myself and my experience as a medium! I have been a leader in several musical groups throughout my schooling. I was section leader in my high school concert band, and was also named drum captain for my last two years in the drumline of the HPU marching band. I have been able to lead and mentor other students in the music department as well as in the marching band and it is one of my favorite things to see those around me succeed through my aid. Read More
