Eric Schwartz has studied composition at the Cleveland Institute of Music, New York University, and both the Interlochen and Aspen Summer Music Festivals. Past teachers have included Margaret Brouwer, Donald Erb, George Tsontakis, and Randy Woolf. Primarily interested in a synthesis of musical archetypes, Schwartz is always at work on a variety of genre bending projects. I am a very passionate and goal oriented piano instructor. I talk with students and see what their goals are and what they would like to accomplish. I make sure it is a very fun motivating environment and the student feels comfortable and that they have many strong points.  I teach music theory to every student so they understand how to read music and get any answer they need. At the first lesson is just seeing where they are and what kind of music they would want to play(hymnal songs, gospel songs, soundtracks, opera, classical etc). Then at the beginning of each lesson would be theory(note recognition, counting, fingering etc). Then review on what they practiced for the week and if they are confident with the pieces add a few more songs. At Christmas time and the end of spring I like to have to have a recital for the students to play a few of the songs they learned for their friends and family.  Read More

I started taking piano lessons at 10 years old and fell in love immediately. I excelled quickly and started playing recitals for large crowds at 12 and have since played solo and in various bands. I have played for small venues and at private parties. In 2015, I started teaching from my home and had 5-10 students at any given time. My teaching experience dates back to my high school years where i would actually walk to a students home to teach. I have been teaching for over 50 years.
