All students will begin with an assessment of their current skills and a short discussion about their musical goals. This will gauge the trajectory of the lessons. Beginning students will start with basic stick technique, counting exercises, and rudimentary drum set beats. Lessons remain fun and engaging with the use of tailor made Drumless Playalong Tracks. I started teaching 1st graders about basic music concepts at the local elementary school when I was in 7th grade. Once I got to high school and I started to get serious about music, I began teaching private lessons to middle school and other high school students. By the time I was in college, I was capable of teaching lessons to students of any age or skill level. I now teach a wide variety of students between the ages of 6 and 73 and have taught many genres including: Jazz, classical, pop, hip hop, blues, rb, samba, soul, funk, rock, and avant-garde. I also teach a variety of just nice, popular songs like Auld Land Syne. America the Beautiful, Jingle Bells, & You Are My Sunshine. All of this includes keys, chords, scales, and theory. One IMPORTANT & UNIQUE feature of my lessons is my 4 color CHARTS which ever student can have.
