  My teaching career began in college. I taught trombone lessons and was an instructor for the Hampton University Band Camp. In 2009 I became a graduate assistant at Central Michigan University. I also taught at an elementary school while I was in graduate school. After college I moved to North Carolina and became a band director on the middle school and high school level. My strongest skill is composition and arranging.  My works have been played on the middle school, high school, collegiate, and professional level.  This skill set includes jazz, popular music, classical, gospel, small ensembles, and large ensembles. I am passionate about singing and about teaching others singing technique. I have my bachelor‘s degree in music from the University of Mount Olive. I also studied in the Masters program at ECU for vocal pedagogy. I’ve had leads in local operas and and I am also a vocal artist who sings gospel music along with other genres.
