I started to teach privately in June 2012, teaching both voice and early piano. I teach students out of their homes, or a space of their choice. I have mostly worked out of their local schools or churches. I encourage and emphasize regular practice on a consistent schedule. I encourage hard work, but also fun when practicing, and during lessons to help maintain a student's growth and interest. I encourage my students to enjoy their instrument and encourage them to find music they wish to learn that interest them, as well as classical pieces. Read More

I work with a variety of different methods, depending on the needs and interests of the student, and am always happy to be flexible, with the end goal of having a great time making music. I consider the greatest and most rewarding aspect of teaching to be seeing and hearing a student gain the ability to play an instrument and thereby to become a musician. And I believe the only way to really accomplish this is to meet a student where they're at, become aware of their musical interests and goals, and to be a guiding voice that can help them work towards those goals in a more efficient way than they could on there own.   My teaching style provides an interactive learning environment for students. Each lesson challenges the student to achieve or surpass their goal. Students are free to ask questions, explore, and take risks while learning their instrument. Every lesson provides the use of Technology, audio, video, and the latest music software.
