Overview:
I love everything music. I am passionate about teaching any one willing to put in the effort to express themselves. I like writing music, learning songs, reading, and playing games in my free time. I have two degrees that I am very proud of. I have a Bachelor's degree in Music and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Sound Design. I play multiple instruments, but lean towards playing the guitar the most. When I am not playing guitar, I am usually working on various electronic music pieces on my computer.
EXPERIENCE
I am a music and Sound Design graduate with skills in composition, audio editing, guitar, piano, voice, and trumpet. My lessons are meant to be fun and expressive. Music is an international language that some people just need a little bit of practice expressing! Along with my degrees, I have a background in radio production, and editing for various forms of audio media. I've been a lesson teacher and mentor for a few years now and absolutely love sharing the power of music with my students. Ready to jam?
METHODS USED
I start with the basics and work my way up. No matter the learning speed, I will go at the student's pace. I will first learn the musical interests of the student so that we can learn what they love as well as introduce them to new and unfamiliar styles. My methods also vary from student to student depending on what the student is interested in learning. My lessons are based on the student's desire to learn. I will always push and encourage my students to learn all aspects, but I want to spark an interest that allows the student to enjoy the instrument that they are learning.
LESSON STYLE
My teaching style is relaxed. I grew up taking lessons that stressed me out and that's the last thing I want any of my students to feel. Music takes practice and sometimes practice is tough, but above all, music should always be fun. My teaching style in encouraging, but not strict. I never want my students to feel like they are letting me down if they do not pick up something as quickly as I would like. As long as my students are enjoying music, they will never let me down. Music should not be stressful.
