I attained my M. Ed. in leadership and supervision at Antioch University. There I learned how better apply my teaching methods for more beneficial outcomes.  My most recent employment, with Nashville Public Schools (Music City!!!), afforded me the opportunity to teach modern band. Modern band philosophy combines instruments from various ensembles and allows the students the opportunity to explore and integrate the instrument of their interest into that band.  Modern Band is basically a rock band that is opened to other instruments and ideas that are most times contradictory to a typical rock band. My journey in music began at the young age of 3, singing along with the sounds of live guitar and Classic Rock tunes on the radio in my home. I started teaching flute lessons to my friends in high school from my parents' basement in 2009. Since then, I've gone on to college and have maintained a studio throughout that time. As a teaching assistant, I also taught college courses at the University of Northern Iowa for music education students and undergraduate flute students. I work very deeply on the intersections between Neurology, Psychology, Music Pedagogy and Physical Theater. I believe the body learns best when allowed to perceive the information from multiple angles, with exercises that allow you to experience and feel things as often as you normally have to understand them.
