I like to start with having the student or their parent fill out an information sheet that will inform me of their experience and musical interests. After gathering that information I like to start with the vocal anatomy, posture, and breathing. I then like to focus on having the student watch a video that shows those things so that they can make an auditory and visual connection. I find the most rewarding thing about teaching music is the spark that ignites in each individual student to blossom into a musician. The importance of each student is reflected in individual curriculum designed or each student. I believe in the idea that no student is the same. I am an experienced music teacher with a background in rock, blues, and folk music. As a self-taught guitarist, drummer, and harmonica player, I have years of experience both teaching and performing music. After studying classical guitar, voice, and music education at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, I graduated from Appalachian State university with a master's in guitar performance in August of 2022.
