I believe that in order to be successful we should start from the beginning. With this being said we will first start out with scales and then work our way up. If the student is struggling with a certain scales or notes we will concentrate on those until he or she masters them and then move forward. Teaching is about patience and understanding. I have both! For adults and intermediate to advanced children, I use a combination of books from different authors e.g. Taffanel Gaubert Flute Method, Marcel Moyse books, for technique development and also many pieces from the classical repertory.
