My lessons for vocalists are divided into two sections: technique and repertoire. For singers, breath management skills are of primary importance as this directly affects intonation. I like to begin with Anne Peckham's The Contemporary Singer. My students can choose any songs they would like to sing while we work on musicianship skills including expression and lyrical phrasing. I was born in 1991 and started playing drums shortly after that. Growing up in Detroit Michigan I fell in love with sound and was exposed early to many different styles of music. Studying music from a early age I went on to attend Berklee College of Music on Scholarship where I received various awards and performed with many of my favorite musicians including George Garzone, Bob Gullotti, John Lockwood, Doug Johnson, Aaron Goldberg, Joanne Brackeen, and many more. I am passionate about music and passionate about teaching music, especially the drums!  I recently received my Masters Degree from Manhattanville College and I hold a B.A music degree from Purchase College.  I have performed from Canada to the West Indies and all over the US and of course I can be seen regularly here in NYC. I began teaching over the summer of 2010. While attending Berklee, I had countless one-on-one and small group sessions with fellow drummers where we would bounce ideas off one another and give each other "mini lessons," breaking down specific grooves and licks. In October, 2014, I led an hour-long master class for other Berklee percussion students about advanced polyrhythmic concepts and applications.
