In my teaching I try to be sensitive to the individual student's needs and desires while stressing the discipline required to reach these goals. The study of music is often a progression of 'ah-ha!' moments where the student experiences an understanding of something they may have struggled with for a period of time. In college I began my teaching career. I started teaching private lessons, band classes, and General Music classes. I continue to teach currently as well. Teaching music is truly my passion! Through my teaching I want to spark a passion for music in my students. It is important to me that my students truly enjoy learning music. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing my students flourish. My students will often come to the first lesson worried about their ability and leave with more than a grin on their face because it was not at all what they were expecting. I strive to make my teaching style unique to each individual. My students find that I can explain a concept or practice technique to them in multiple ways if they do not understand it the first time.
