I graduated with my Bachelors of Music from Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, NC. I am currently finishing his Masters of Arts in Teaching degree from Lenoir-Rhyne as well. While at Lenoir-Rhyne I was involved in a various amount of ensembles, including the newly reformed Spirit of LR Marching Band where I was the Head Drum Major for three years. However, we will certainlybegin by looking atthe student'sinstrument and learning environment and evaluate the technique and knowledge of the student. My students passion is the most important thing to me, I like to help them grow in skills but also their passion. I consistently ask for feedback and work together to make a fun learning environment. I believe each students have their own gifts and pace in learning, so I encourage and motivate them through acknowledge of their accomplishments in lessons and keep stretching out their hidden gifts through the right exercise or techniques. We gradually increase the tempo over the next several weeks. Pieces like that will be rehearsed at the end of each lesson after working through a few passages in Alfreds book. At the beginning, I ask my adults what music theyre interested in learning. I like to gear my warmup exercises and cool down exercises towards that style and I always put aside a few minutes at the end to work on whatever music they desire. Read More

I graduated in 2011 from Appalachian State University with a Bachelorof Music in Voice Performacne and I continued my education at ASU and recieved my Masters of Music in Voice Performance in 2013. During both degrees, I performed mainstage roles such as Nemorino in Donizetti'sElixir of Love, the Witch in Humperdink's Hansel and Gretel, Bastienin Mozart's Bastien und Bastienne, and Gherardo in Puccini's GianniSchicchi, as well as performed solos with the Appalachian Chorale suchas Handel's Messiah and Mendelsohn's Elijah.
