My teaching experience began in 2008, when I began teaching private lessons on various instruments, on voice, and on conducting. I later went on to teach band and choir at Cedar Bluff High School in 2011. After this, I volunteered as the band director at Valley Head High School in 2014. I have enjoyed every moment of teaching music and have taken so much from the experiences that I've had. I believe the same rules of musicianship in classical based performing can be learned from a more contemporary aspect. Voice- Depending on how long the lesson is we work on vocal warmups then work on a song. In a 30 min lesson we do vocal warmups for 10 minutes then work on a song fir 20 minutes.Learning the proper vocal technique. My focus is for my students to not only understand music, but enjoy it to the fullest extent. For this reason, there is no set structure for all students, but each lesson varies based on the student's needs and wishes. It is incredibly rewarding to watch my students grow in their passion and love for music as well as grow in their confidence.
