In my lessons, I will encourage the student to work at their own pace, but making sure they fulfill the objectives as we move along. I want my student to be as comfortable as possible while pushing them to succeed simultaneously. To begin, I will start with chords and scales to get a student used to understanding of notes and progressions. Next, I would go over theory and technique in order to blossom a stylistic way of playing for the student. Next, I would start with simple etudes and pieces for each student to learn and master. When I think about a student learning wintry to put myself in there shoes. They want to feel like they have something to show for the time that they were the class session. . if we have an hour session and at the end of the session they can go out and show off what they learned then they will. It be as motivated to come back.... So my method is to teach them while at the same time giving a practical aspect where they have something that can show and practice to develop the skill learned in the proviso session. Read More

When in the field of Music Education, I do adhere strenuously to the Standards set forth by The Education Dept, which gives a clear understanding as to what they are supposed to learn during the Grade they have achieved. My lessons and objective come from those guidelines. I will not often deviate from it, although I will use my own discretion in determining how to meet the Standard.
