I love listening to music, I love making music, and I love teaching music. I began playing the violin and piano since I was 4 years old. Since then, music and playing instruments has created so many memories and brought me to all different kinds of experiences. I went to Temple University in Philadelphia for a Bachelor's degree in music performance and then to the University of Arizona for a Master's degree in music. Read More

I mainly teach the Suzuki method, especially for beginner/intermediate players. After Book 5, I tend to use conservatory repertoire such as technique books ( Sevcik, Hrimaly), Scale Books, Etudes, and concertos. When it comes to keeping my students interested, I try to find songs that my students are interested in learning. I find those songs according to their level and the technique I want to teach them and then move on from there. Read More

My methods depend on the student's age, what they may have already begun in lessons with another teacher, and I also take into consideration the assessment of their learning style-choosing a method that works best for their needs. Basically you could say that I have no 'one' method. I have as many methods as I have students because every single student deserves for me to take the time to get to know them and to find out what educational practices will fit best with their learning style and personality. For beginning students who are children ages 7 and up without parent support during home practice, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More

I have a experience doing the voluntary teaching at elementary, middle school around the Rochester area. As a teacher, it was very inspiring to see lots of students who wish to learn instrument after school simply because they love playing small songs with their peers. Through the experience of teaching group of students, the primary fundamental I kept was that we are doing music was that we need to enjoy during the outcome (such as playing in group together). Instruments: Piano Voice Violin Viola
For piano I use the Alfred series, and for violin and viola I use a combination of Essential Elements and Suzuki books. As students advance I introduce additional solo repertoire. My voice students learn from a variety of sources. I usually start with a song they know well and work from there. Students also learn a variety of warm-ups and sight-singing techniques. Read More
