Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

I graduated from James Madison University with a degree in Music Education, from Radford University with a master's degree in Music, and from Kent State University with a Ph.D. in Music Theory and Composition. I am an experienced and versatile musical performer, composer, and educator who has experience working with pupils of all levels aged four to sixty. I have held teaching positions at music schools and summer programs offering education in youth jazz and wind ensembles, group and private lessons, general music, and music technology. The method of teaching is as follows: 1) assess where the student is in music and in life, 2) ask about goals in music, 3) formulate objective to reach those goals, 4) rethink things when needed (students aren't cookies, so I can't use a cookie cutter). I do focus on things in order though. If you don't know your fundamentals, then that's where we start no matter what. My teaching experience dates back to my high school days when I began teaching private lessons to members of my church. I continued teaching through college and am currently looking for new students. I have worked with students from ages 4 to 18. My students are encouraged to enter competitions and recitals, as well as work on composing their own original material, so they can feel good about their accomplishments and stay motivated to learn.
