I have been teaching private lessons since 2011, during my time in college. I have taught a wide range of insturments ranging from woodwinds like clarinet and flute to brass insturments like trumpet and baritone. I encourage a regular and consitent practice schedule, since it tends to help students progress and gain a passion for their insturment.All of my stuents are encoraged to participate in any esemble and solo competitons that are available, so that they can gain new and exciting experiences. I have taught band on the high school and collegiate levels as well served as a Guest Clinician and Conductor at various High School and College Band Camps around the Southeastern United States. I feel my experience as a Assistant Band Director has helped to develop my unique approach to band as demonstrated in my philosophy. I approach teaching on a student to student basis. Every student has different goals and interests within music and it's important to tailor you lessons accordingly. I go in fresh to any first time lesson and build a plan from there. One student may need to sit down and studying theory and get better grasp of the building blocks of music, another may simply need to play long tones for an hour. Read More
