In 2012 I graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Studies. Since then, I have moved to Nashville, earned my Master's Degree from Belmont University in 2014, and have began my professional career as a freelance saxophonist. I have had the chance to perform and record in some of Nashville's most historic venues and recording studios. I started teaching while I was in college as a swing dance instructor. I got my first experience teaching people who had little to no experience with the art form, and I had to navigate teaching students with varying skill levels. After college I began teaching beginning students how to play both saxophone and clarinet. I had private students who I met with on a one-on-one basis, and I also had the opportunity to work with middle schoolers and assist both the beginning and the advanced bands. Read More

My teaching style is fairly relaxed, a student needs to enjoy the lessons or we are really wasting our time. There is no reason for music lessons to be dreary, almost all of my students enjoy their lessons and have no problem coming back week after week to be challenged again. I have been involved with music for over ten years, playing the alto saxophone in jazz and classical band ensembles. I am also studying music theory and performance at Pellissippi Community College. I am currently working on my associates in music, and l plan on working on to receive my bachelor's in music theory and composition.
