I have taught several improvisation courses and directed jazz big bands at Florida State University and their music summer camps. I was a saxophone instructor for the Byron Center High School Marching Band. I have given private instruction to middle school students, high school students, and college students for the past six years. For beginning students who are in a school music program, I start with whatever the preferred beginner's method that their band uses: usually Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. As they progress I use a mixture of their music from school and etudes and exercises to improve their reading and technical abilities. I am a saxophonist in the EMU Wind Symphony, EMU Big Band, EMU Saxophone Ensemble, EMU Jazz Saxophone Sextet, Stone Tower Saxophone Quartet, Krangerson Duo, REMIX, and Funkwagon.
