My main focus is trying to teach students HOW to learn music, so that they can eventually create their own methodology based on what works best for them. I have eight years of experience teaching private lessons, so I understand how to craft a curriculum to an individual's needs. Working with hundreds of different musicians has taught me that everyone learns music differently: some through sight reading, others with audio recordings, others still by watching someone else do it first.  We can work on specific topics during our lessons, but I can also give you a bunch of things to review/work on during your own time. My motto is my students create their own lesson. I formulate lesson plans off of the styles of music you are most interested in. If my student has a more "just for fun" attitude, the lesson will inevitably be a more light hearted feel. I am a patient and understanding instructor who loves to share my passion of music and love of instruments with whoever might so be interested. No degree yet but set on finishing it. Despite not having a degree I am very well educated in music. It has been my passion for 17 years and I have enjoyed my learning experiences. I started working as a professional tutor in 2009, teaching subjects from music to chess and economics. My transition from general tutor to full-time music teacher happened in 2014, and every day I'm reminded how wonderful that decision was. I believe success in music comes from passion, performance, and consistency. My method focuses on beginning slowly, mastering a piece of music before building speed and expression. I started off by giving friends mini lessons back in college. I then moved on to teaching privately out of a music school and realized from that point, that I really enjoy teaching and sharing my knowledge and passion with others. I find it rewarding and fulfilling to see my students get excited about learning music, my aim is to further grow their passion and thirst for musical knowledge. I believe no student will want to learn if they don't feel excited about the subject, this is why I find ways to package the somewhat dry and tedious parts of music into a more exciting and palatable chunks.
