I began teaching people how to play instruments when I was in high school, by teaching new students to the band how to play percussion. I then continued teaching once in college by volunteering at local high schools helping new students to the band programs learn brass and percussion. From there I worked with the Rich South high school band director and the Jack Hille middle school band directors. Once I graduated college I taught choir and instrumental music for the catholic school system for two years. Read More

For guitar and bass I teach reading of sheet music as well as tabs. For bass guitar I teach beginner and intermediate using Hal Leonard's Bass Method Complete Edition and Mel Bay's Electric Bass Method Volume 1 and 2. I use additional materials based on the student's particular long term goals. I teach beginner level piano using Keyboard Musicianship Piano for Adults (10th Edt.) by Stipes Publishing Company and for beginner voice I use Progressive Sight Singing by Carol Krueger as well as an array of online resources. I also take a lot of opportunities to do a lot of side gigs. Last year around this time I was asked to come up and play at the Green Mill in Chicago to perform with lots of great artists/musicians. After that great opportunity, I get asked to do a lot of local musicals as a pit musicians and I just keep performing in local community bands. I do wish to continue my education to earn my Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance after that I plan on getting a teaching job and trying to find a job as a musician in the bigger cities Read More
