I first got into music when I was in elementary school. My first instrument was the upright bass fiddler. This help me learn the notes on the bass clef. I later learned to play trumpet which was the instrument that used to audition to get into the Navy Band. I also played piano for college that I worked at called the College of Lake County in Greyslake, IL. I now play the electronic piano at the church that I attend, Parklawn Assembly of God. Read More

I have been teaching during my college days and had received my first student while there. Currently I have been teaching for the past 13 years through traveling in the Lake and Mchenry county areas. What inspires students is the great passion they see in you but truly having fun in the lessons while teaching them the foundational components that are important in the beginning. I definitely encourage consistent daily practice times which will be key in seeing their love for it ignite. Read More

Lessons always begin with a brief review over what was covered during the previous lesson and what materials were practiced by the student. New concepts and techniques are modeled by me first. I then provide several opportunities for the student to practice this new idea or skill in a variety of ways. I am also a huge fan of incorporating educational games and activities to maintain students' interest in the lesson. Read More

I have different ways for different students. I will try to know how many students understand piano to avoid teaching the same things they already know. And help them find an adaptive way to practice to avoid boredom in learning. I will check and point out what's wrong and help students to fix and give new knowledge. I always teach as many as I can in every lesson. There is a goal for every student for their studying and in each lesson, there is a small goal to get. Read More

I like to rely both on method books and insights I have gained over the years. I believe that a student's familiarity with all the major and minor scales is an important goal to arrive at as soon as it could be achieved. Just about as important is a steady rhythm. So, I stress this too. When my student reaches a satisfactory level, I invite him or her to participate in a recital. Read More
