We work on technique, performance, note reading, sight reading, and interpretation. We also work on music theory. Books I have used in the past include the Essential Elements series and the Melodious and Progressive Etude series. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument.
