I continued to teach and perform after graduating from college. With decades of teaching experience, I have developed efficient and effective curriculums that students can learn properly and quickly. Students are encouraged to pursue music in the way that will keep them engaged reaping maximum benefits whether that be to build parts of their brain that would have otherwise lie dormant, or become the best solo performer they can be. This is why I use a well-developed system of technical exercises that are easy to understand and implement that allows the student to quickly gain mastery of the instrument. These techniques were thoroughly developed and taught by my mentor, Dr. Jill Sprenger, and I have seen students of all types succeed with them. Originally from Dallas, TX, I was always interested in music but never thought of it as more than a hobby. I was a solo performer playing shows around the Dallas/Fort Worth area and in a popular Salsa band for years before I finally decided to get back into school and see where this musical journey would take me. In 2017, I graduated with honors from Fort Lewis College and finally in 2020 I received my Masters degree in Jazz Performance and Pedagogy from The University of Colorado-Boulder. Read More
