I'm a passionate instructor who loves teaching. I've been a musician since I was 6. I started playing piano, then moved on to percussion. By age 12, I played piano, drums and guitar fluently. I continued my education up to my masters from Texas A&M University in 2012. Upon graduating, I started teaching in the brazos county area. I moved closer to Houston to expand my career. My teaching style is overall fairly laid back. I let my students set the pace, but I also expect them to be passionate, curious, and hard-working. I love to encourage students as they explore different areas of their playing, and try different ideas. I push my students just out of their comfort zone, and force them to take risks. Every person has different strengths, weaknesses, motivators, and goals. I like to keep all of these things in mind before I start designing a lesson plan for each person. I like to make sure that I am teaching both the ear to listen and the eye to read, so I make sure I can improve the development of both by providing effective sight=reading and aural exercises in every lesson.
