During the past 15 years, I have taught students ranging from the earliest beginners to very advanced college flute majors. I have varied pedagogical experiences from working with young children with autism and dyslexia to teaching college flute majors. This diverse range of experience allows me to tailor my teaching to meet each individual student's goals. I find all levels of students to be equally challenging and rewarding! Previous private flute teaching experiences of mine include teaching at the Musical Achievement Program in the Toledo public schools, teaching secondary flute lessons at Bowling Green State University (BGSU), CalArts, and Oberlin, and substitute teaching flute majors at BGSU. I also go in depth to reasoning and pedagogical reasoning for my explanations so that the student can engage in critical thinking and draw conclusions on their own. Read More
