  I started playing clarinet in the school band at age six.  My father was a musician, and he thought that playing in the school band would help me overcome my extreme shyness. I have been playing flute since 7th grade and marching percussion since 8th grade (I am in my 3rd year in high school). I have been playing string instruments for a year and a half after taking classes in college.
