For beginners, I have a multitude of etudes, simple songs, and exercises to encourage sight-reading, finger comfortability, and basic cognitive understanding of music fundamentals such as scales. I love teaching private lessons, and I have 12 years of experience doing so.  I have been playing flute for 26 years, and I earned my Bachelor's in Music Education and Flute Performance from SUNY Fredonia, and my Master's degree in Flute Performance from the Hartt School. Teaching is the most rewarding aspect of my career as it is an important way for me to share music with others. I first started teaching private flute lessons in 2013 working primarily with K-12 students. In 2015, I taught flute sectionals and music classes for middle school students as a counselor at the University of Colorado Boulder Summer Music Academy. I also served as Event Coordinator for the University of Colorado Boulder's Teaching Peace Through Music chapter, where I helped plan and promote classes on music education and learned from instructors working with underprivileged youth. Every child has their own way of learning. Some are visual, others aural, verbal or kinesthetic. As a teacher I will adapt my lessons to each child needs. The basic structure of the lesson is review/present the new concept, apply it and at the end of the lesson discuss the new given homework for the following lesson. I will go to the student pace.
