My teaching experience began back when I was a junior in college. I started working with 2 high schools in the Daytona Beach area in the marching arts as well as private lessons. Upon moving back home in the metro Atlanta area after graduating, I began doing various clinics for high schools in the Dekalb and Fulton county areas in preparation for the schools spring concert band festival. At the age of 17, I flew to Hollywood, CA to attend Musicians Institute where I studied Bass Guitar Performance. Learning from and playing with some of the best musicians in the business was amazing. I left school to hit the road with my first professional band. I spent the next 20+ years writing, recording and touring all over the country. I was lucky enough to be in a few bands that landed indie recording contracts, which allowed me to tour nationally doing original music, with songs I had written being played on radio and on TV shows across the country. I have an easy going personality and like to have fun so I try to make my lessons feel the same way. I'm not overly harsh or judgmental but instead I try to make each lesson a true learning experience where there's no pressure and the student is free to make mistakes (even encouraged to take risk and make mistakes) in pursuit of their passion of music. I believe when a student feels free to be themselves with their instrument it will result in a faster learning curve and more excitement to learn. Read More

My teaching studio is equipped with two drums sets and practice pads to accommodate marching or drum set students.   I also have a full PA and two keyboards set up for piano students and accompanying purposes.  Each student is given an assignment for the week (or specified time) and will then pass off this lesson assignment (barrier) before receiving a new lesson.  Passing off not only includes demonstration of the lesson but also performing with me as I accompany them on the keyboards.
