Teaching the cello is something that I kept doing when I came to the US to study at Juilliard, teaching at their MAP program and other programs in the New York area. Ive taught students of all ages and levels, and truly believe that building a healthy rapport with my students is the only way to instill in them the passion I have for music and for the cello. I dont like forcing students to do something theyre not passionate about, however, a big part of what I teach is that how you do something is how you do everything. Read More

My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 6 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students since then. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. I've also found that a combination of classical and modern music can go a long way in helping students enjoy cello playing and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. Read More

“Music is one of the most important parts in my life, it can raise someone's mood, get them excited, or make them calm and relaxed. I like teaching people instruments and involve more and more people fall in love with music. Because music allows us to feel nearly or possibly all emotions that we experience in our lives. Music is powerful in many other ways that could take your feelings away.” I have a lot of experience with all ages students but especially with beginners and advanced students. Read More

While there, I studied saxophone, cello, double bass, and voice. I continued to major in music throughout high school. While there, I studied within the jazz ensemble, wind ensemble, concert band, marching and pep bands, and saxophone quintet. Read More

I believe that each person has a unique set of skills and characteristics through which he or she acquires knowledge, maintains and improves the acquired knowledge, and uses it to his or her benefit. Therefore, although I do have a system that I follow, I attend to the specific strong and weak points of each student. My goal is to be present in each and every lesson and to focus on each student's current level with the understanding that only through direct and personal guidance could my students improve and thrive. I teach Suzuki and Energy Efficient Cello Technique. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with the Suzuki Cello Book. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More
