Ive taught students of all ages and levels, and truly believe that building a healthy rapport with my students is the only way to instill in them the passion I have for music and for the cello. Prior to joining TON, Sarah served as principal cello of the Mannes Orchestra and the Mannes Opera Orchestra. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 6 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students since then. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. I teach Suzuki and Energy Efficient Cello Technique. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with the Suzuki Cello Book. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance.
