I am a younger instructor who is very excited and passionate about the inter- and intra-personal aspects of music and teaching music. First discovering my love of performing and problem solving through chamber music, I have since received a dual degree from UMass Amherst in Music and Social ThoughtPolitical Economy, and I am now pursuing my Masters of Music in Cello Performance at Boston University.   I am currently about to complete my undergraduate degree at Wheaton College in Norton, MA.  During my freshman year, I auditioned for and was accepted into the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.  With this ensemble, I gained extensive training as a touring cellist in a large orchestra.  We perfomed regularly in Symphony Hall Boston, Sander's Theatre Harvard, a tour to Carnegie Hall (reviewed by the NY Times and turned into a live recording for sale), as well as a tour to The Netherlands in June 2013 where we played in 5 cities culminating in a performance in the Concertgebouw Amsterdam. I have a deep and passionate love for all things music, whether it's teaching, performing, writing, or listening, and I love being able to share that with my students. I did my undergrad program at UMass Lowell and have achieved my Bachelors degree in Music Studies. I currently still attend the University, where I am striving to get my Masters degree in Music Teaching. I have over 15 years experience teaching privately as well as teaching band and orchestra in public schools. At one time I taught thirty-eight, half hour band and orchestra sessions every week. This included private Jazz ensembles and orchestra—all at the Elementary level. I taught 4th and 5th grade band and orchestra for the San Ramon Valley School District for 5 years as well as after-school ensembles for 9-11 year olds. Read More
