I have been teaching private lessons for 10 years. Encouraging students to practice regularly and to have fun with their instrument is essential for the learning process. I stress the importance of these two things so that the student may develop a love for music and their instrument of choice. I began teaching private cello lessons in 2009 during my masters program. I began my study of the Suzuki method in 2014 and am currently certified through Book 4 with plans to continue study. I believe in the emphasis of listening skills and believe they help my students to be sensitive musicians. I have been playing the cello for 13 years now and began giving lessons about five years ago. I have taught everyone from very young beginners, to adults picking up the instrument for the first time, to advanced students preparing to play in a college orchestra. I have prepared many students at all levels for the NYSSMA adjudication, resulting in high scores.
