I am a relatively new teacher! I've been a musician all my life, but only recently started teaching children and young adults how to play instruments or how to collaborate musically. I have found that teaching is an important part of being a musician, and I'm very excited to find new students. I've been teaching guitar for about 15 years, voice for 10, drums and harmonica for 6 and classical guitar for the last 4. My current formal teaching experience came about in college. I gave several acoustic guitar lessons to some beginner guitarists in Chapel Hill. However, the majority of my instruction experience has come about more informally. As a songwriter, composer, and bandleader in multiple Chapel Hill-based music acts, I have spent much time teaching other musicians the best ways to play certain pieces of music.
