With trained ABA, we can achieve the ever-sought status of “cool”. It is a process of reciprocal musical involvement. I learn from the student, the student then teaches me. Each student is attended to equally with a specific lesson plan (materials provided by teacher). Inspiration and fun is crucial and without it would be a wasted lesson. I’m a nice person with empathy and a determination to keep the student focused and engaged with purpose. Read More

When studying with me, students can expect a comfortable and fun atmosphere that promotes experimentation and positive reinforcement. Employing a curriculum that is equal parts formal technique and informal playing of the students favorite music, I make every lesson engaging and exciting. After 3 to 6 months, beginners should expect to be able to play many of their favorite songs, have a firm grasp on basic scales, chords, theory and sight reading, and can even begin writing their own songs and improvising solos! For beginning students I like to get them to have proper technique when it comes to the right and left hand placement on the bass. I also like them to get familiar with a sense of time so I use a metronome and teach them about how the beat works along with playing the notes on the bass. For intermediate students I gauge their knowledge of music theory such as scales and arpeggios and work on those along with tackling songs that they might want to play. Read More
